What’s in a name?

Giles Inspired is a name we arrived at after many many ideas were thrown around for our business name. The tricky part is-we do a lot of different things. John and I have different strengths and passions and finding a business name to encompass both of us has been a challenge. I’m all about the wild and free, creative, paint loving, messy creative arts and crafter and he’s logical, problem solving, precise and detail oriented. This is form and function combined with design and color and its quite the complimentary partnership. However, naming our business Form and Function Meets Design and Color Inc. would just be too much of a mouthful. Alas, we needed to come up with a name that felt like the heart of what we did.

Inspiration is that heart. We seek inspiration as well as seek to inspire others. We seek inspiration in scripture, in nature, in color, in relationships, in learning and we seek to inspire others to live intentionally, creatively, and with love.

Our goal with Giles Inspired is to push ourselves to try new ideas and and to let love and creativity spill out into the lives of those around us. You can be sure we’ll make messes and mistakes, make the wrong cuts, spill paint, make ugly stuff that never gets it’s picture taken, argue with each other about the best way to do something. But you can be sure as well we will push ourselves out of our comfort zones, practice patience and grace with each other and ourselves and try to laugh about all of it along the way. We have such precious, limited time here.
